Safe Routes to School programs often start with encouragement programs that are meant to get people to try walking or biking to school. Starting with a simple fun event that builds interest and enthusiasm. It will attract attention and support for more activities, more people and and ultimately, behaviour change.
There are plenty of people who can and want to make active transportation safe convenient and fun. Check out the School Team article for ideas on who can help and what they can do.
