Once a community has decided to improve active transportation options (often through the Action Plan process), it needs the resources to do so.

Find It Fund It: This table indicates potential eligibility for pedestrian and bicycle projects under federal highway and transit programs. In each case there are specific requirements that must be met within eligibility criteria and eligibility will be determinedon a case-by-case basis.

ODOT's  Active Transportation Section promotes, manages and monitors several distinct funding programs. The website for each identified program provides specific program information.

The Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) is a good place to start when looking for infrastructure funds to make improvements to make walking and biking easier to do. Presently its funding is in two categories: Fix-It and Enhance.

The STIP-Enhance process considers many types of project proposals and activities together in a single multi-modal investment decision. Individual proposals may relate to the roadway, bicycle/pedestrian or public transit mode, or address a combination of travel modes in a single proposal.
