Fall Quarterly Meeting

September 24 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Location: Hood River School District, 1011 Eugene St. 2nd floor conference room

Schedule:

9 – 9:30: Arrival and mingling time

9:30-10: Announcements, icebreaker, intros 

10-10:30: Overview of Hood River SRTS 

10:30-12: Walking Site Visits

12-12:30: Lunch (no host) @ Farm Stand 

Megan Ramey, the Safe Routes to School Manager for Hood River County School District will be giving a quick timeline of their progress from a 2020 bike train to $12 million in funding for education and infrastructure. Then she will lead an under 1 mile walking tour of 2 schools’ demonstration projects: Hood River Middle School sidepath and May Street Elementary school street. Both of these projects together cost less than $20,000 and provided remarkable public engagement, paving the way for permanent installations.

Important notes!

  • Be sure to dress for the weather and wear shoes that are comfortable for light walking.

 

  • For lunch, you can either buy from the Farm Stand Market or bring your own.

 

  • If arriving by Columbia Gorge Express, we recommend taking the 7:20 am bus from Portland to arrive at 8:30 am. We recommend taking the 1:30 bus back to Portland, but there are also earlier and later buses for those with different schedules.
